Tutorial: Spiderman

The new Spiderman movie is coming soon, are you excited already?

After my Avengers series, I've had a lot of requests to do other superheroes, comic book characters etc, and since Spidey has cool colors and textures, I decided to do Spiderman makeup.

For starters I want to apologize that my hand maybe wasn't the steadiest when doing this, and my choice of falsies be might a bit wrong, but hey, it's just makeup, let's not take it too seriously ;P

Start with primer, and then apply blue shadow (Sugarpill Royal Sugar) to inner 2/3 of your lid:

Then apply black shadow to the outer corner:

Next start applying red (Lime Crime Fly Dragon Fly) to crease and above

Apply some black to crease, blend upwards with the red:

Then take white liner (Illamasqua Scribe or Lime Crime Lunar Sea) and start making a web pattern. I wanted the web to be "attached" to my brow, and start from my upper lashline:

Draw the web and then extend the start of the web to line your upper lashline (Hopefully you are better webspinners than I am ):

Add a thin black line really close to your lashline, and apply some depth to the web pattern with black if needed:

Next I did the brow, I went with dark brown color:

Then I applied red shadow to my lower lashline, along with thin black line:

I thought the look needed some sparkle, so I added some MAC Reflects Rust glitter over the red shadow, and I also lined my waterline with bright blue and black liner:

Then I applied mascara:

And finally false lashes:

Finally I finished the look with screaming red lips (Lime Crime Candy Apple gloss):

Tutorial: Barbie pink

Time for something a bit more wearable :D

I'm having somekind of writes block, so I really haven't gotten any post done. Pictures are ready, but the text is lacking, and I can't seem to force myself to write the text.. :S

Start with priming your lid with primer:

Then apply light pink shadow (Lime Crime Royal Flush) to the middle of the lid:

NExt apply darker pink /purple (Sugarpill 2am) to outer corner and crease and blend upwards:

Then apply light/white shadow to inner corner (Sugarpill Tako):

Also apply white/light shadow to highlight, you can blend the darker color with the lighter pink if needed:

Then add some darker color to half way to your lashline:

OPTIONAL: Line your upper lashline with pink-purple liner (Lime Crime Orchidaceous unliner):

Line your upper lashline with black liner (Lime Crime Quill unliner):

Apply mascara and false lashes if needed:

Done! (Lashes are Ardell #305)

Sorry, I can't remember what I used on my lips :S

Tutorial: Galaxy

Time of another crazy look with tutorial!

In the Plan Nautilus from outer space tutorial I originally was inspired by nebulas and galaxies, but it turned out to be something different, so I wanted to do a real galaxy look too.

First prime your lid, and apply black base to whole lid and up to brow, just leave a small area untouched (depending how much space you have between lid and brow):

Then apply white base to the part you left untouched:

Then use white shadow in the middle of the white area (I used Sugarpill Tako), and apply some electric blue shadow randomly around the white (Sugarpill Velocity):

Next add pink/purple shadow (I used Sugarpill 2am) around the white and to blend the blue spots a bit:

Blue = Velocity, Purple = 2am = White = Tako:

Next I added some more random spots with Sugarpill Mochi:

Result looks something like this:

Then the fun part, the stars!

You need a toothbrush (preferably maybe non-used, clean and not your only one!), some water, white eyeshadow (the kind that can be used with water) and then use just use your finger to spray the color from the toothbrush to your lid. It might be first a bit tricky, since you gotta keep your eye closed, but don't give up :D I also used a bit of Sugarpill Lumi to bring extra spark to the stars:

Then you just add liner to upper and lower lashline, and falsies. Mine are Sugarpill Spark False Eyelashes:

And your crazy galaxy look is done!

I'll be posting soon some more serious makeups too, don't worry. :P

(Tutorial:) Poison Ivy

So, yesterday night I found this site with thousands of cosplay pics from different conventions, and the one character that kept popping up was Poison Ivy. The outfits were usually very well put together, but usually the makeup was somehow dull.

So that gave me an inspiration to do my own version of Poison Ivy.

There are a few popular Poison Ivy styles; The Uma Thurman's Poison Ivy from the 90's film, the different versions from the comics, and the Batman: Arkham Asylum version.

I like some parts of all of them, but I wanted to add my own twist to it. I didn't want to make just a sexy woman with red lips and hair and poison ivy leaves, but something a bit more sinister, but still kinda hot.

This is how it came out:

This is how I did it:

First I made a normal base to my face (primer, foundation), then I drew thin vein-like lines all over my face (mostly to temples and side of my face, not too much but still noticeable).

Then I applied basic lash glue (mine was Duo lash glue) over the green lines:

I let the glue to dry, and when it was dried enough, I applied some dark color around the glue to make more depth to the veins. Then I did the makeup itself:

I actually did super basic dark smokey eye, I used black base for lid (MAC Slick Black greasepaint stick), Sugarpill Bulletproof over Slick Black, then dark green from 120 palette, and blended the edges with Sugarrpill Acidberry and Illamasqua Vernau.

I made the brow really arched, I used basic brown brow pencil and OCC Botanical liptar to create the kinda mossylike finish.

And finally Sugarpill Flutter false lashes:

For the lips I used concealer, and OCC Botanical liptar, kinda looking that it would be oozing from my mouth:

Then some highlighter and blush to make the skin look natural:

And finally a super-cheap red wig (it's some kind of cheap Jessica Rabbit wig from costumeshop) and some fake ivy leafs, and I also patted a hint of green color also to the hairline of the wig to make it look like the hair was also "infected" of the veins/moss:

And the look is done!
