Misa High Society Collection Nail Polish Pictures & Swatches

Hi friends. Today I have Misa's winter collection, "High Society" to show you! This collection is full of super gorgeous, deep colored polishes!

First is Uptown Glamour, which is a deep, multifaceted eggplant shimmer. So pretty and rich, this color bears a resemblance to OPI's Every Month Is Oktoberfest.  The formula was superb:

Then we have It Girl, a deep maroon creme polish. Vampy and sophisticated all rolled into one, this polish applied beautifully with just 2 layers:

Next is the greyish purple beauty, Well Heeled Grey. Very reminiscent of Chanel Paradoxal, but with a fantastic formula and the ease of simply being able to go to Misa's website and order it whenever you please: (2 layers)

Then there's Trust Fund, a deep dark sage creme.  I cannot stress how much I love this dark neutral- it's so pretty and rich (pun intended).  (2 layers):

Then we have Bourbon On The Rocks, a whiskey color that is so glowing, it a reminds me of smoldering ashes. Deep and bright at the same time! (2 layers)

Lastly, there is the perfect medium-brown creme polish, Tailored Taupe.  Fantastic formula on this one as well, this colored brings to mind chocolate syrup. Delicious! (2 layers):

After getting the chance to try Misa (check out my recent review of their Wander Lust collection here), I can tell you that I am an instant fan. I love everything from the colors and the formulas, right down to the brushes and bottles!  Misa polishes can be found on their website, http://www.misacosmetics.com/.

Misa Wander Lust Collection (Swatches & Pictures)

I was so very excited to get to try a brand that is new to me this week- Misa!  Today I am showing you their "Wander Lust" collection that came out for Fall this year. This collection is comprised of 6 beautiful colors- one of them broke in transit to me (sad face), but here are the others!

Epiphany is a cool toned khaki-gold shimmer polish. I don't own a single polish like it! So pretty and unique.  (3 layers of polish shown):

Then, there's Living Without Knowing, a dark taupe brown with a gold flecky shimmer.  Such a gorgeous neutral!  (2 layers of polish shown):

Next is Taking Chances, which may be my favorite from this collection. Unique burnt orange with gold shimmer sparkle. (2 layers of polish shown):

Then we have Lost To The World, a chocolatey brown with a subtle shimmer that dries super shiny. (2 layers of polish shown here):

And lastly we have Frozen In Time, a deep periwinkle polish with a violet flash- so pretty! (2 layers of polish shown):

Here's a bottle shot of Breakaway, (fitting name?!) the one that didn't make it. A very pretty purple that was slightly darker in real life (compared to how it photographed here):

Bottom line: Misa makes a fabulous product. I cannot believe that I have not tried them before.  Each formula was excellent and the brushes were great, coming together to make application an absolute breeze.  I highly recommend this brand!  Check out their website, http://www.misacosmetics.com/.  I will be featuring them again later on this week, so check back for that review!

Twinsie Tuesday: Chanukah Inspired Mani

Hi friends! Today's Twinsie Tuesday theme is "Chanukah Inspired Mani".  I have to admit, I was intimidated by this week's challenge. My Chanukah knowledge is admittedly very small, and I was afraid of doing it "wrong".  I relied on Google Image search to inspire me. I hope my Chanukah celebrating friends approve!

Here are the polishes I used:

Don't forget to check out the other Twinsies this week!

Illamasqua "Charisma" Nail Polish (Pictures)

Today I am wearing a pretty special polish.  What makes it so special, you may ask? First, this is the very first Illaasqua polish that I have ever tried. Second, it was given to me by my dear friend Tara (Polishyoftruth.com <--check out her blog if you haven't already!).  From the moment I saw a glimpse of this beautiful polish when it was first launched this fall, I knew I had to have it.

"Charisma" is a  raspberry-wine-magenta color, with a fine golden shimmer coursing through it.  It's rich, deep color is dark, but not too vampy. This is an absolute perfect polish for those who don't want to wear red (me) during the holiday season- it's so festive and velvety:

Honestly, this is just perfect.  You need it. The color absolutely GLOWS! The formula was excellent; not too thick or thin, and covered completely in just 2 easy layers.  Illamasqua polishes are available at Sephora!

Sation Nail Polish (Swatches): Rock-a-guy Blue, Power To The Purple, & Oh My Oceania!

I have some beautiful Sation polishes to show you today! I won these from a giveaway held by one of my favorite blogs,  Of Life and Lacquer.

First up is "Rock-a-guy Blue", a deep, inky blue creme polish:
(2 layers)

Then there's this amazing grape purple- "Power To The Purple".  There's a soft golden shimmer in this one that makes it very special:

(3 layers)

Lastly, my favorite- "Oh My Oceania!", a turquoise-teal-shimmer masterpiece of a polish. I was speculating as to whether or not this was a 'dupe' for Rescue Beauty Lounge "Aqua Lily". A quick Google search yielded this comparison by The Nail Network.  No, they aren't twins, but they definitely look like siblings. With the price difference being so drastic (RBL's go for $20; this Sation, a very reasonable $5) I am more than satisfied with this beauty:

(3 layers)

Aren't these so pretty????!  They are available on Miss Professional Nail's website here

Thanks Cynthia, for this fabulous prize!!

Zoya Ornate Collection: Logan Nail Polish (Pictures) and Some Easy Holiday Nail Art

Here's another from the Zoya "Ornate" Holiday collection!  "Logan" is a forest green with fleck/metallic shimmer.  Gorgeous and very festive!

2 layers:

I then I decided to wrap it up with some ribbon (nail art striping tape). It is best to wait until your polish is COMPLETELY dry to add the tape, that way you have the ability to move it and place it the way you would like before sealing it in with topcoat:

I'm not usually a huge green fan, but there is something about this one that makes me swoon.  You can see Blaze here and Ziv here (also from the Ornate Collection).

Zoya polishes can be purchased on their website, and if you use my referral link here to create an account, you will receive a coupon in your account for a free bottle of polish (even better, add 2 more bottles and get free shipping on that order!).

Which 'Ornate' colors excite you the most?!

Twinsie Tuesday: Oldest Polish

I can't wrap my head around the fact that it's Tuesday again...already!  This week's Twinsie Tuesday theme is "oldest polish".  Since I've already showed you my oldest polishes (the OPI's from the amazing Wild West Collection of 1999 here, here, and here) I decided to show the oldest one that I've actually owned and held onto since I bought it, which is not terribly old. You see, if you've read my blog in the past, you would know that I was not always the polish hoarder that I am today. In the past I would GET RID OF any polish that didn't do it for me (can you even imagine?!).  Now I know better. My polish tastes do change from time to time, and when that happens, I can sometime fall in love with something that I had previously "written off".

Anyway, here is OPI's "OP-I Love This Color".  This came out with their 25th Anniversary collection back in 2006 (Fun fact: Did you know that OPI was originally started in the 80's as a dental supply company called 'Odontorium Products Inc'?).  I bought this color, and have held onto it. That is quite a feat:

"OP-I Love This Color" is a warm burgundy wine shimmer.  I haven't pulled this one out in years, but it is still such a fantastic color!

What is the oldest polish in your collection? Do you hang onto them for awhile?

Don't forget to see which oldies the other Twinsies have on their blogs today:

Julep Maven- November Nail Polish Box (Boho Glam)

Here are the contents of Julep's November Maven box. Mine is the "Boho Glam" style:

Inside this month's box, there were some great things: 2 'suede finish' polishes in the colors "Nora" and "Amber"; a large tub of Julep Pink Grapefruit Body Frosting; and 3 nail polish remover pads.

First, we need to discuss the Pink Grapefruit Body Frosting- THIS IS AWESOME! The fragrance and texture are absolutely heavenly. It truly has that 'whipped' consistency, and glides into the skin effortlessly, without making it feel greasy.  Also, as I may have noted before- if you name something after food, I am all up in that:

Onto the polishes!  First, here's "Nora", a charcoal polish with silver flecks that dries to a suede (matte) finish.  2 layers:
And here's 'Nora' all shiny with topcoat:

Next is "Amber", a warm taupe suede. 2 layers:
And, with topcoat (I think this is my favorite):

Also included were a few of the Julep Nail Polish Remover Pads, and they work really well.  The pad itself is thick and sturdy similar to a felt material.  I was able to remove all 10 nails with just a single pad!

Interested in signing up to be a Maven?  If so, you can use my referral link here; be sure to enter the code: COLOR2012 to get your first month for just 1 penny.  This is a great way to try them out and see if it is something you would like!

Do you lke suede/matte polishes?
